PRAYER and WORSHIP

Opening Scripture:

Philippians 4:6
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let
your requests be made known to God.

James 5:16
Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed.
The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

1 Timothy 2:8
I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and
doubting.

John 4:23-24
23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in
spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.
24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

Psalm 150:6
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!

Prayer

Citizenship is not religion; it is a relationship between God and humanity. Prayer is not an option, it is essential to a citizen’s life. All relationships grow through communication. The better the communication, the better the relationship will be. Communication is a two-way process involving both talking and listening. The disciples ask Jesus “teach us how to pray.” Jesus’ priority on earth was to talk to God the Father.

Worship

“Worship is a lifestyle and a daily experience and not an event.” Worship goes beyond geographical boundaries, atmospheres, locations, prayer, churches and any kind of meeting. We worship God everywhere and anywhere, with lifted voices, with silent adoration, lifted hands, fruits of our lips, the blessing from our hearts and whatever we can find to bring glory to our God because He desires it. God will be pleased with the man whose life proves what their lyrics are saying. Worship is not an external activity precipitated by the right environment. Worship is giving God the recognition He deserves with all honor, admiration and deep devotion.
